Latham Arnott shows us how to animate in After Effects with Duik Tools. In this tutorial he explains how he created the “hipster cyclist” animation, animating the character with Duik. The character was created by illustrator Kirk Wallace.
Duik Tools for AE lets you do some fairly complex things easily, not just character animation. Duik has a really solid character animation system, including an automatic rigger. If your elements are named correctly and the pivots are set properly, creating a character can be a one-click process.
Duik Tools handles inverse kinematics for animation, with morphing tools and simple dynamics. Amazingly, Duik is a free download, but you should really donate something to keep development going. Discover the Duik tools for After Effects here.
