Nel corso di una speciale sessione virtuale, la candidata all’Oscar per “Oceania”, racconterà i ‘dietro le quinte’ della sua carriera di cineasta e documentarista, focalizzandosi poi sul nuovo progetto in cantiere, “Raya and The Last Dragon”, previsto nelle sale cinematografiche per marzo 2021.

In questo appuntamento live Osnat dialogherà con Carolyn Giardina, redattrice tecnica dell’Hollywood Reporter, e risponderà ad una selezione di domande inviate dai partecipanti al sito web di VIEW nel corso dell’incontro.
L’evento si terrà martedì 20 ottobre 2020 alle 10.00am PDT/19.00 CET, e verrà trasmesso in streaming in tutto il mondo.
Dopo aver prodotto e diretto numerosi progetti per cinema e tv, oltre a curare un gran numero di installazioni interattive, nel 2002 Shurer è entrata ai Pixar Animation Studios in veste di produttrice esecutiva della sezione cortometraggi, dove ha supervisionato vari progetti in animazione rivolti a piattaforme multiple. Ha svolto inoltre la funzione di consulente in diversi lungometraggi, tra cui “Il figlio di Babbo Natale”, prodotto da Aardman Animation.
Nel 2012 Shurer è passata ai Walt Disney Animation Studios quale Vice Presidente dello Sviluppo, ottenendo nel 2017 una candidatura all’Oscar per il Miglior Film d’Animazione con “Oceania”, insieme ai registi John Musker e Ron Clements.
Nella virtuale presentazione speciale offerta a VIEW 2020, Osnat proporrà numerose tematiche rivolgendosi a un’audience globale: tra queste, il lavoro di consulenza culturale da lei svolto per “Oceania” tramite la creazione dell’Oceanic Story Trust, e il suo attuale impegno di produttrice nell’imminente nuovo ‘classico’ Disney “Raya and The Last Dragon”, diretto da Don Hall e Carlos Lopez Estrada e previsto in uscita nella primavera del 2021.

In a special virtual session, the Academy Award®-nominated producer of Moana will share insights from her career as a filmmaker and documentarian and talk about her upcoming project, “Raya and the Last Dragon,” set to release in theaters March 2021.

During this live session, Osnat will be in a virtual conversation with Carolyn Giardina, Tech Editor at Hollywood Reporter. She will also be responding to a selection of questions submitted by attendees on our website during the session.
This event takes place on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 at 10:00am PDT/ 19:00 CET, and will be streamed live to a global audience.
After producing and directing various film and television projects, plus a number of interactive installations, Shurer joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2002 as executive producer of the studio’s Shorts Group, where she oversaw production of animated projects across multiple platforms. Shurer has also consulted on a number of animated features, including Aardman Animations’ Arthur Christmas.
Shurer joined Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2012 as Vice President of Development. In 2017, she received an Academy Award nomination as producer of Moana, together with directors John Musker and Ron Clements, in the best Animated Feature Film category.
In a special virtual presentation at VIEW 2020, Osnat Shurer will present to a global audience on a range of topics including the cultural consultancy work she undertook with the Oceanic Story Trust for Moana. She will also discuss her current work as producer of Disney’s upcoming animated feature Raya and The Last Dragon, directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, and scheduled for release in Spring 2021.
