In questo tutorial, Greg Petchkovsky descrive il processo di creazione di un oggetto 3D completo, stampato a colori che si adatta perfettamente a un vero e proprio muro di pietra arenaria, producendo l’illusione che il muro è costruito da pezzi di lego. Ma le tecniche descritte hanno una utilità più generale, il potenziale quasi illimitato, facile e meno costoso di quanto si possa pensare!
Dopo aver fotografato l’angolo rotto di un muro, Petchkovsky ha ricreato il blocco di pietra in 3D tramite il pacchetto PhotoScan, scolpendolo e inserendo un set di tasselli LEGO in ZBrush e 3ds Max, finita la modellazione è stato portato in stampa 3D con Shapeways.
Il risultato: il modello LEGO è perfettamente integrato alla ricostruzione dell’angolo del blocco ricreato in Photoscan.
